Dave Daubert is the Lead Consultant for Day 8 Strategies and the author of The Invitational Christian, the book and related work that inspired this site. Dave works with faith-based organizations and with leaders to connect people to God’s work in the world and support revitalization for the sake of God’s mission. The connections between the teaching, coaching and consulting that Dave does and the parish experiences that he lives out bring grounded insights that make his work a unique blend of theory and practice.
He has a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching and a Doctor of Philosophy in Theological Studies. Dave Daubert serves as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin, IL – a role he shares with his wife Marlene who is a rostered Deacon in the ELCA.
He has been interviewed on NPR and is the popular author of several books and articles about mission, leadership and the practice of ministry (including Living Lutheran and Becoming a Hybrid Church). His newest book is Beyond Chit-Chat: Sharing Stories that Matter, was co-written with his friend and colleague Elaina Salmon.
